Review

Was it because of the movie, this incredible story of poetry, love and pride ? Was it because of the night, a cold and wet November evening ?
We guess it was more because of the people there that night...

Whatever it was, there was something really special yesterday evening at Le Petit Pois, some human warmth, and some genuine beautiful sharing time.
Thank you all for coming, these movie nights are what they are thanks to you! And see you next time!

What a fantastic couple of nights we had!

"Tonight, YOU're the Chef", was in full swing with Michael Walshe as our first guest, and what a guest it was! Fabulous dishes, great skills and attitude. The prep time was already intense but what to say about Wednesday's service with a full room to serve and good pressure and excitment for Michael! We all had a great time!

November Menu is out!

I was heading to the Saturday Market, walking On the sunny side of the street, when I met Jolene.
"Are you gonna go my way?" did I ask her.
"What's going on?"
"Well I am just shopping for November menu" did I answer showing the market and i just started to Walk this way.
"Hallelujah", she said and started to Stand by me, Dancing in the Street. She was not a Sweet Child O Mine but she was still such a nice Galway Girl to have a walk with!

We passed by Le Petit Délice, met a Friendly Farmer who greeted us with a large Smile, took a crate of Jerusalem artichokes from Niall Burke who seemed so Happy. There were Good Vibrations all over the place. What we wanted was Local Produce you see, but first as always we started at Sheridans Cheesemonger for their nicest Camembert to prepare the sauce for the steak.
At the vegetables stool, we Get Lucky, Ken gave us his best autumnal pick up : pumpkins, celeriac, chestnuts, pear and he hold us some wild mushrooms : "don't they Smell like teen spirits ? Every breath you take gets wilder!".

Poetry was always hanging around the corner on the market and even more with Sheena giving us a hug while doing her Market Food Tour with a large group from Hotel California.
"Hey Jude, here come the sun, finally!", said a lady from the group, weather chat was never far at hand.

Finally we arrived at Gannet Fishmonger, Stéphane's crowded fish stool. No need to look in a Larousse to realize we had the best fish here, he advised us for the freshest Cod this day to match our Malibu, curry, and lemongrass emulsion and so we did. We had a chat about fresh food as opposed to mass production -we are kind of in Rage against the machine you see- and on our way back had our traditionnal salute to the most famous Galway accordeonist
- "Johnny B good!".

A quick call in Evergreen to grab the Tofu and Seitan for our vegeterian couscous and then when we Get Back at Le Petit Pois, where M. Brady's was waiting for us with his melting heart of fillet of beef.

That's a Day in the life of Le Petit Pois, was I thinking while climbing the stairs to our colorful restaurant room, and to be honest it was the closest thing for Michèle and me to a Stairway to Heaven.
